Contemplative Woodland Walk at Lake Norman State Park in Troutman, NC (just above Mooresville)

Have you ever heard of the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, or Forest Bathing? Have you been drawn to mindfulness practices and how they can improve the quality of your life? This Woodland Walk is a combination of these two practices.

Trees are nature's air filters and forest bathing provides the elemental benefits of being amongst so many plants and their essential and numerous gifts to us. This health enhancing practice is good for deepening our connection with the Divine through Mother Nature, it helps reduce stress and improves our overall sense of well-being. Opening our senses to nature, helps us develop intuition and opens the channels to our subtle sensory experience, and connects us more deeply to the world around us and ultimately ourselves as well.

This experience isn't just a "walk in the woods" ~ it's a guided, intentional and interactive way to connect with the gifts around us through shifting our perceptions and increasing our attention in a mindful or prayerful way. Healing interactions require giving generously of our attention and the world around us is full of "medicine" when we choose to witness it, be with it, and allow ourselves to become one with it.

This walk is a guided experience on the "Alder Trail" at Lake Norman State Park. Light House Co-founder, Debbie Chisholm, will provide guidance and suggestions for your experience.

When: Sunday Oct 21st

Cost: Free

Where: Meet at LKN State Park Visitor's Center

The trail is a marked and mostly flat - "easy".
